In Memory of Anita Arevalo JAI Scrap #5

In Memory Of …………………..
Anita Arevalo
I haven’t made a scrapbook page in over a year. I have attended scrapbooking classes with my upline Julia Quinn from handmadebyjq@blogspot.com.au  during this time but haven’t actually completed a page on my own. Having just spent another Mother’s Day without my mother and making cards for my extended family made me miss her and when this challenge @ JAI came up I immediately had in mind the photo of mum with all her brothers, sisters and my Grandma Lola. This is the only photo I have of mum in her younger days (pre my sister and I). The bottom photo was at my wedding; my mother had never looked healthier in her life. At a young age of 61 my mother passed away with Pancreatic Cancer and was taken away from us way too soon (in my opinion). I cherish the times that my sister, mum and I spent together as her immediate family here in Australia.  My mother a strong, independent women instilled such values in bringing up 2 daughters on her own here in Australia.  If it weren’t for her I would not be the women I am today and thank God everyday that my  mother has passed on her strengths and values to me so I am able to raise 3 beautiful kids with my husband Darren.

  8. What a lovely tribute to your mother. Cancer took my mother when she was just 42. That was 39 years ago and I still miss her.
